How can you change the unit side
So a man in CIV clothes is a WEST-member or something

You can't change a unit's side in the middle of a game.

There are two ways of making a unit wear the "wrong" clothes.   I think I've answered this question twice this week already, so search the forum on hacking the mission.sqm and deletevehicle the squad leader.

If you want a civ fighting for EAST :

Place a EASTsoldier & group him with your civs

In the init of the EASTsoldier put:

Deletevehicle this

If West sees your Civs they will attack them cause they think they're from EAST side,but there will be no Eastsoldier anymore...cause you deleted him..

So if you want an Civ fighting for WEST

Place a WESTsoldier grouped with your civs...and so on... got the point?

There is a very funky search function in this forum .... if you look at the top of the screen there is a row of buttons, one of which is search.   (it is a bit hard to spot unless you're looking for it.)  Click on it and, well, use your initiative - it's very straighforward, and pretty quick.   Post here if you have any problems.

This forum has existed since August 2002, but its worth doing a shorter search first.

And remember, people like me will ALWAYS try to help you, no matter how daft or common your question is.   We just ask that you use the full resources of the site first.   Apart from anything else, you'll get the answer quicker that way.

Blanco's response should do the trick.   Just for the avoidance of doubt, the West soldier should be the group leader.

Yes I know there is a search option.
I did use it 2 times, but I didn't find a very clear answer to my question.
