Airports...
« on: 27 Mar 2003, 19:07:27 »
I'm working on an "air power" campaign. The campaign will be based on the Nogova map since it's the only map with two runways. But the thing is when the AI uses the northern airport (on the northern "external" island) they just fly off the runway and crashes. I've used both this setbehaviour "SAFE"; and set the AI's behaviour to safe in the waypoint menu. But it still won't work... It works fine with the airport at the Nogova main island.

So here goes:

1. Does anyone have an idea of how to make the AI take off from the runway (which doesn't have the taxi-run way on it) north on the map??

2. How do I make an AI pilot land ? Can I use a trigger with the action command??

Thanx in advance...

I think the action is
Quote
AircraftName Land "Land"
You should put a waypoint or a trigger in a decent distance from the airport, but if you won't, the AI pilot will do a landing circle and then land.

About your first question I don't know (and i'm not sure about the second too, but I think it's right  :) ). I tried to make the AI takeoff from there and still they didn't ...

1. OFP Engine only allows for one workable runway per map.... which for that map is the southwest one. No matter how hard you try you will not be able to land or take off from the northern runway unless you control it yourself (autopilot and AI off)

2. If you don't want anything fancy you can just put a get out waypoint over the workable runway.

- Pilot will land, then taxi, then get out of the plane and stand there if you have no more waypoints for the character.

Thanx for the suggestions and comments guys (and girls?) :)

If there's ever a OFP 2 I hope they use multiple airports ...

Thanx!
