helicopter pick up

I searched the FAQ but I couldn't find an answer to this. The player is part of a group of soldiers(hes not in command). I have a helicopter in a seperate group far off. I want it to come to our position, pick us up, then take us somewhere else and drop us off.  The way I set it up was to have a move waypoint for the squad to the helo landing site, then a get in waypoint at the helo which I synchronized with the move waypoint I gave to the helo, which made it come to our position. However it doesn't work. The squad will immediately start running off in the direction of the helo, and the helo will pass us and wait in midair while the squad continues to run in the direction it used to be. How do I fix this?

ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH I just wrote an essay of how to accomplish this and i pressed post and it put me back to the signin screen and i lost all what i wrote, so bare with me i will make the mission and attatch it (if it is not too big that is).

This is what i managed but for somereason the chopper pilot gets out and back in when my group gets out. Just d/l the attatched file, unzip it, and put in Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\Users\Username\Missions and open it in your mission editor it is on the desertisland map.

check out the helicopter tutorial in the Ed Depot.   Search the forums too, and you'll find lots of useful tips.

The invisible H object can help persuade a chopper to hand in the right place, and the command

heli1 land "land"

can come in handy too.   Look it up in the command refs for more info and alternatives to "land"

thanks for all the help. by reading the tutorials I figured out that to make it land and wait for people to get on board, you put a "get in" waypoint where you want the squad to wait for the helo, and a "load" waypoint where you want the helo to land (approx) and sync them together, for anyone who doesnt know. Using the invisible H also helped(it's under Empty, then Objects - took me a while to figure that out :D). Sometimes those helicopter pilots take FOREVER to land...:P
