Sound editor needed
« on: 07 Mar 2003, 07:55:35 »
Hey

All I need is for someone to convert a music track (wmp) to wav. My converter doesn't work (Nothing of mine ever does) and I can't post anything in the training depot. So I ask here ;)

PPS: It's 4mgs

Hey O Neil,
i've no idea if that's even possible...i have a couple of professional sound editors, and guess what? That's it, no wmp.
I would advise you to forget about wmp (unless somebody else can help you). I'm sorry that i can't.

Hey

All I need is for someone to convert a music track (wmp) to wav.

What is the file type? I don't think there is a "wmp" file type. I am guessing it is a Windoze Media Player file, which is most likely a wma or asx. There's alot of converters available for those formats. Try one of these for instance:

Hey

I can change it to wav if you want, I just need someone to convert it to .ogg.

Yea I looked at the thing, it doesn't seem to work on my Comp (FFS) and I think it converts TO wave......not convert to .ogg.

O Neil

PS: I could be wrong ;)
PPS: Yes it was Windows Media Player

I think I might be able to help. (Already the doubts are creeping in though ::)) When I'm converting Audio from visual files I just rename the file extension from .wma to mp3 (You will get warnings that your computer will blow up/be sucked into a vortex or something. It hasn't done anything wrong to my machine/files yet) then using winamp and the .ogg codec convert the file from .mp3 to .wav. If that fails just e-mail me the file you need editing and I'll do it for you.

Hey

I have in the past changed it to wav, but didn't try mp3, I just did that and I got this:

The CODEC required to decompress
'D:\My Documents\My Music\Enigma\LSD  Love, Sensuality and Devotion\Push the Limits.mp3'
could not be opened

FFS   >:( :-[ :'(
O neil

PS: Do you really want me to send the file? It's 4mgs
PPS: I'll zip it but it doesn't make much diff. ;)

Sound Forge does all that..

you can edit a song as much as you want... fade in, fade out, cut 2 mins off a song and even save it as an .ogg...

Cool as, I think my video editor can do the touches to the music, but that sound quite interesting, I'll look it up, but I never find anything that good ;)

Hey O'Neil,
You want a audio thing that can convert any audio file to ogg. format.  If you give me your email i'll email you the file.  Inside the file it has the ogg. installer and the ogg. codec you need to make ogg files work.
Bg
P.S. This will work man no matter what.  It works on any computer.
