heli question
« on: 17 Feb 2003, 22:51:13 »
I want to parachute a group. I now know how that works but,
they always die when they land on the ground becouse the helicopter flies to low. In the tutorial i downloaded this was all no problem. I tried the " heli flyinheight 100" but it doesnt work in Malden.

Can anyone help me??

:hmm:  Flyinheight has always worked for choppers.. and even works for planes now....  :hmm:

there must be an error occuring in the way you're using it ...

you could simply try placing this  in the heli's init field:

this flyinheight 90

or alternatively you can name the chopper  something and use:

choppername flyinheight 90

in a script, trigger, or waypoint ;)

I have a feeling you need at least 120 for safe parachuting.

Flyinheight does work in Malden.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Actually.. You can safely parachute at 70 i believe

but i must say, i love playing this game coop with friends.. i like flying planes and have my friend be in the gunner seat or in the back (cargo)

and then just eject mid flight.. and parachute down, and watch him fall with the chopper all the way down to the ground.. ahahhaha

hes still talking like he doesnt know that i eject.. then all i hear is a crash and him yelling over voice coms

ahhh.. its great.. try it sometime

The most disturbing thing about AI choppers is that they fly in around 50-55 and if you only go a few meters up you survive a parachute.

To the Q then:
IÂ'm not an expert at choppers but try to put in da command in every init/WP da chopper goes to. Remember that you have to name da chopper and use his name instead of this in WPs and Triggers.

Hope this helps ;)
