Newbie Questions

All,

It has been awhile since I have done really any map editing so I want to make sure what I ask is possible.

#1. I know the biggest issue in the past has been making "Chopper's" wait to board personal before taking off.

- Issue I run into is I create my "Chopper" on the ground and create a load waypoint.

- I create a get in waypoint for my troops but my "Chopper" will start up its engines, take off, and then land to allow troops to board. How can I get this "Chopper" to wait and not take off?

Am I forgetting to add names to the objects and have coding put into its initialization felid?

#2. Idea - When I create some stupid little missions I might have three "Chopper's" of troops coming into a landing area... is there a way to do this.

Part 1.

1. Three "Chopper's" in base (grouped or not…. Not sure)
2. Three infantry groups board "Chopper's"….
3. Once all "Chopper's" are full… "Chopper 1" takes off, then "Chopper 2", 5 seconds later… so on

1. "Chopper" 1, 2 and 3 heads to marked LZ
2. "Chopper's" 2 and 3 hold at certain marker while "Chopper 1" goes in to deliver troops....
3. Once "Chopper 1" takes offs "Chopper 2" will move forward to same LZ and deliver troops...
4. ect.....

I am trying to create a peacekeeping mission with some possible camera shots to make it a little more believable…. I have tried synchronizing waypoints in the past and sometimes it works and most of the time it doesn't. Triggers? Scripts?

I know there is information out there but I am not being able to fully capture it or correctly find it.... Also I am not sure with the upgrades that have come out for this game if this has gotten a little easier to do?

Thanks ahead of time

Welcome back Iwesshome!

There may have been some new helicopter tutes added since you were last here, so look in the Ed Depot

1.   I think the secret is to take away their fuel, and only put it back when it is time to take off.     The command?  I dunno, setFuel?

2.   Sounds totally possible to me, and what's more sounds like you've virtually done it.    Its just a question of setting up the triggers correctly.    Use "join" and grpNull to make the choppers be in one group or not, depending on which is better for that stage of the journey.   for standing off for instance, they will need to be in seperate groups, but for a nice flying formation they will be better in the same group.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play
