OFP really annoy me!
« on: 20 Dec 2002, 02:39:55 »
hi all :) before u flame me to death, let me at least have the time to say my mind.

the thing that really really annoy me in ofp is, the Lack of (solide) Walls that are actually solide!! (spelling??) I just hate AI walsing through the walls like they werent even there. I made a mission where 3 guys were held captive, but when they join a group or whatever, they just turn on their superpower and walk through the wall which is 6ft and with barbed wire on it......COME ON. How hard could it be to just make some solide objects in OFP instead of those flimsy thingys they got now. Sure some walls actually work...But the majority of the buildings on the different maps "everon, malden ect." have buildings you can run / crawl through. what would it take for BIS to make some buildings that actually does what they are supposed to do......act as a shelter.

Sorry if i stepped on somebody...that was not intended.
Just needed to let out some steam...because the AI pissed on me 1 to many times ;).

okay ill shut up now....

take care and merry Xmas everybody.

Do you have 1.75 or above? because collision detection is alot better with resistance....

As someone who does modelling, I would have to agree that the walls could have been a little thicker on most of the buildings... allowing for a slightly wider geometry LOD.

mt1202,

I have to agree for the building... and moving into them with WP are a pain too.

But I just LOVE this game... I just learned to avoid the building, after that, I made peace with the game. 8)

Have to agree on that, god knows how maany time i just dropped out of a 2nd floor sniping..lol

this is kinda oT so ill slap my q in here, maybe someone sees it...hehe

LOD setting, no matter if i set it to 1.000 or 0.005 it seems i have to get real close (50m) for detail to load in, spec on parked choppers, on a GF4 ti200, anyone have any ideas on this?
