It is nice to finally get a nice welcoming post instead of the first two posts by comedian wanna bees
Oh captain my captain,
and i thought, you were asking for how to respawn, but
then i saw you just wanna get a nice welcome here.
Sorry for that: welcome to the forums ;D
I mean, what was your problem with the first two replies?
OK, they were a bit into joke-direction, but then again, they
told you all, what was needed to know (here in this general
editing section).
btw - i noticed, that you edited your first post, and this makes
the following replies look a bit like: not the answer for what
you were asking.
I'd suggest you, to make a new reply, or a new post, for each
new question.
Your basic question was, how to do respawn.
Now your question has changed, but people who already saw
this thread, wouldn't realize that there's a new question in it,
because you just edited your first post.
OK, i've also seen (in another post of you), that you did solve
this problem already.
Let me add a few things to your solution:
your problem was: respawn didn't work after creating your
description.ext file in the right way.
You said something like: manually copy/paste the description.ext into the missions folder after saving the mission.
If you save a mission the first time, a mission.sqm file will be
created (ofp/users/user_name/missions/missionname.island)
Into this folder (missionname.island), you put your description.ext. Now if you save your mission from editor with
another name, all the files (like: description.ext or scripts, etc.) won't be saved (only mission.sqm will be saved when changing the name).
So you have to manually copy/paste the files into your new missions folder.
Another hint: You don't need to export your mission to mp to
be able to test it in multiplayer. Just start your editor in multiplayer (mission selection on the top).
It's the same editor (in functions) like the one in the main menu, with the difference: saved mission files will be saved into: ofp/users/user_name/MPMissions
You can even test your maps by pressing preview (i mean
with multiple players on your host).
