Is there anyway to add the radio thing into the mission at a certain point? For example:

When a shilka is destroyed, the "0-0-1" command thing appears so that the player can call in an airstrike.

Use the setRadioMsg command to do this.

thank you :thumbsup:. If i may ask another question? Is there anyway to make a unit that is on a CYCLE waypoint, to move out to another waypoint when a trigger has been activated?
I tried going into the FAQ to find my answer, but it wasnt working  :confused:
And also, can the AI use that island airstrip on Malden to take of from (using planes of course). I tried it and he drove off into the sea.

Make the Trigger a Switch Trigger and synchronise it with the Cycle waypoint.  Once it is triggered the Waypoint after the Cylcle waypoint will become the active one.

Tom, you are welcome to ask as many questions as you like.   :)

The island airstrip off Malden does not work for the AI.   There is a maximum of one working airstrip per map, and it must have a north-south runway.    You can make the AI take off from a non-working airstrip, or anywhere else for that matter, but it takes some serious scripting.

The FAQ is not working at the moment.   We had serious hardware failures a while back and we're still rebuilding the site.   Lots of things are still missing but never fear, we'll get them all back.    The good news is that the search function on this forum is much better than on the old forum, and all the old posts have been preserved.   Everything that was in the FAQ is on this forum ... although you can only find things if you know what to search for.    You'll find a lot of information on switch triggers now that you know what you're looking for. ;)

cool, keep up the awesome work. If it werent for this site and the incredibly helpful people here, i would never be the mission editor i would be today  :). I'm in the process of beta testing some of my maps in preparation for submission...my only question remaining is, how do you submit the zip file? I had a look at the other maps to see how they did it, but it was as if they had their own websites running them... Oh well..no rush.  :D

There's plenty of website where you can upload your mission, http://www.yousendit.com and http://www.rapidshare.de are the most popular ones.

If your mission is small enough (below 2mb) you can add it to your post. Take a look under "additional options..." and see if manage to attach a file.

When you think that your mission is ready, upload it to the beta board and let the beta testers take a look at it. If the mission is bug free, add (review please) in the title of the thread.

Cheetah is right of course.    However, you can attach large files to your post on the Beta testing board.   Read the sticky topic on that board for new mission authors before you post - it'll save you a lot of grief.   ;)

Attachments other than things like missions or Ed Depot resources are limited to 100k.

i thank thee once more  :). I did read through the thread in the depot section, and i now have some insight into submission. After a few more beta tests on my missions, i will post them in for the testers to have a go at. Tomorrow though, its just a tad bit late right now (3:14am!)  :goodnight:

sorry to bring this back again, but i'm a little confused about the 'setradiomsg' command thing. I tried it, and it did nothing. Does it add the "0-0-1" option on the command menu? And also, when it does become active, how do i use the actual radio itself? I'm a wee bit lost with this one...

Yes.

Well, it's just 0-0-1 as you said.   The command sets up the radio channel:  when you use it with 0-0-x the On Activation field of the trigger is executed.

Make a test missionette and play with it.  ;)
