LST Supporting Fire
« on: 08 Jul 2004, 19:10:37 »
Hi
I'm trying to make an LST fire at a beach where APCs are landing. I want to simulate Heat shells being fired from the LST (as though i setposd a tank by the LST), and have the shells land on the beach.

I have already tried the Naval Artillery scripts in the Ed depot and they either give me error messages or they dont work at all.

Please could you help me sort this out, its a necessary part of a mission.

Thanks

cant you just place some gamelogics on the beach and run a explosive script ??
i did that in 1 of my mission . if you want that wizzling sound over yor head just make a script like
playsound "BOOM"

[gamelogic1] exec "explosive.sqs" and so on

i dont really know what you want but i hope this will help you anything  ;)

btw cheers mate

Yer thats exactly what i want to do , run a simple explosion script for the shells landing, but theres more to it than that...

I want the LST to appear to be firing the shells that are landing on the beach - ie i want the barrels to produce a glare and smoke and the explosion in the barrel...if u get me.

Hope i've made it clear now :)

Hi,

Try this by mcnils:

The script does simulate an LST turning in to the target direction and fire his cannon, try out this mission at night, with the cannon fire effect, then its the most spectacular.

It was one of the first OFP scripts I started learning from.
