Changing Wind?
« on: 11 Jan 2006, 17:18:02 »
Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to make the wind stand still (no wind).
I want to have a parachute that falls right on to the ground without being influenced by wind. I'd like this because my parachute has to land on a exact spot (So I'm sure of it where the chute will land. So maybe there is another way to fix this instead of changing the wind.

If you don't have a clue of what I'm trying to ask read this: :P
Is there a way I can make a parachute fall on a spot exactly where I want it? ???

Cheers, blekzebbed

I've heard of some way of making a parachute land right where you want it I'm sure I have. Have you looked in the ed depot?

Well, there is a wind direction and speed script.
But I'm not that flashpoint player how to understand
how I will use this for making the wind stand still .

You can't change the wind.    You can't even detect it directly, although you can detect it indirectly by using a parachute or drop particles.    Setting good weather in the Intel Box does tend to reduce its strength.

In this case your best bet is probably to calculate the path the parachute should take, and create a getPos/setPos loop to keep it on that path.    The script would detect the parachute's position, compare it to where it should be and if it is not on the correct path give it a nudge in the right direction.   It does this seven times a second so the player won't notice.
