Author Topic: Editing the cannons of planes/attack choppers and the door guns for black hawks  (Read 1488 times)

This is a multi part inquery conerning a modification of existing addons to simulate a mixture of ammunition tyoes used with out having to switch between them. 1: I was wondering if it is posible to edit the damage of the plane and attack chopper guns so that per every three rounds fired 1 round is High Explosive Dual Purpose (HEDP) rounds for anti-armor and anti-personnel which would be normal area of effect but more damage, 1 round is a tracerwhich could be seen at night via nvgsand be normal damage, and one is API Armor Piercing Incendiary [DU] 30mm Ammunition which does the most damage but has less area effect.

2: have the mini guns on blackhawks have every three shots consist of one tracer, one normal round, and one high explosive which does more damage and has a higher area of effect.

1) Not without scripting. The bad thing is that if the 'scripted' projectile kills the target no kills are recorded for the killer nor is there any "I've got him!" radio messages.. Plus with scripting this could get pretty CPU heavy..

2) Again, scripting. More complex = more CPU heavy..

o well. Could this be made in a new addon? w/ out scripting that is...

Nope..
At least as far as I know..

You would need to configure tracerless bullet, bullet with tracer and the explosive bullet, then tweak the cannons fire rate so slow that you can 'squeeze' in the two 'scripted' bullets in between the 'real' shots.. (scripted bullet means camCreated bullets..)
The 'real' bullet would be the tracerless one, both the tracer and explosive bullet would be created via scripting (the script would be run from the "fired" event handler)..
