Editing BIS-models
« on: 01 Aug 2005, 17:31:52 »
Hi there!

I would like to edit some of the original Operation Flashpoint weapon models.  Is that possible?  If so, where do I find them?  I looked everywhere in the Flashpoint directory and found only the addon models. :-(

I want to change things like magazine capacity, recoil and zoom.  That should be quite easy to do, right?  Just change some settings in the config-file?

Anybody here who knows?

C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\BIN

There U will find the CWC Config.bin

For the Resistance weapons open up O.pbo in 1 of your addon folders.(OFP/Addons or OFP/Res/Addons)

you'll need the ChainofCommand's BinViewer to open the .bin file:

Thanks a million!

And now for the next question: How do I open a .BIN-file?  I know how to Un-PBO and edit config.CPP, but what is"BIN"? ???

As you can tell I am new at this.  I recently managed to remove a constant muzzelflash from an addon by following instructions I found in the OFPEC forum, and now, full of exitement, I thought I should have a go at some of the BIS-models, but got stuck at square one. :(

Do I need a special program to open the BIN-files?  Any information, or pointers to information, would be much appreciated.

Hey!  You were way ahead of me Remcen! Thanks! I'll get the BinViewer right away.

And thanks again, to both of you! I really appreciate it!
