where'd you learn to fly??
« on: 12 Oct 2002, 00:37:39 »
Ok, stay with me on this one it's terribly fustrating.

I have 2 Littlebird helos not grouped one behind the other awaiting a trigger to drop down into a street and drop 8 men off (my guy and 7 others on the 2 platform Littlebirds).

I activate the trigger and the 2 helos start their approach ( this is where things go FUBAR) I have both helos assigned to a "transport unload" waypoint attached 2 respective invisible helo pads. when the get near, my primary bird "jumps" up and scoots sideways in a VERY slow fashion and touches down. It stays there and awaits my "all disembark command" that I have synched with the "transport unload" waypoint.

Problem 1 is that I know the helo can fly STRAIGHT into the street and land in the same direction, because i tested it with just the one helo. I can't figure out that when it gets close, it goes all screwy and lands sideways and takes WAAAY too long to do so. (note: the 2 helos are NOT grouped)

Problem 2 is that when my 1st helo touches down, instead of the second doing the same and awaiting my "all disembark command" it just hovers there and only moves way away from its assigned pad and drops guys off when i give the command. What I'm mainly wondering is if it is just a futile attempt to get 2 helos in a column fashion to fly down a street and land one behind the other, drop off guys then take off.

I sincerely appologize for the windedness of this post but i felt i had to be as specific as possible....oh yes...

Don't forget the new Ship from Jafegon should be ready tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!

maybe it's touching the walls or it think's that it's to close to the other little bird, my suggestion is to put a bit more distance between the two heli's

Try to look unimportant; the enemy may be low on ammo and not want to waste a bullet on you!

ok i think i have it figured out....at least coming from a guy that can't script to save his life, but i tested it about 50 times last night and had the EXACT same result each time. there are just a couple of little constraints that i'm sure others can improve upon. I was going to type out the explaination but i will just do a demo mission when i get home and submit it here. You will need to have the SOMALIA map and the LITTLEBIRD pack and the SEB DES DELTA units installed for this to work but i assume the people that need this problem solved already have this.
