I have never managed to get that to work bedges.

This however seems to work fine:

vehiclename action["Land gear"]

This is a toggle, first activation puts gear down, next activation raises the gear again.

Doesn't work with AI controlled aircraft, well it probably does, but they reverse the action again immediately.
