Try setting its 'Special' property to Flying and in its init field put
this flyInHeight 0.5

Have a nearby waypoint for it that has in its activation field choppername flyInHeight 100

Not guaranteed.

ive tried that already   but all it does is have the heli start off at normal flying height then go down to 0.5 then start moving to next waypoint :-\

this sort of works   but it has the start up engine sound play really quicky  and it also climbs in height really quickly

Could try a waypoint On top of Heli with a count down on it before it moves to the next height or waypoint.
Are you going to use this for intro/ cut scenes?? If you are not then what THobson suggested will be OK. Ya may not even see the the Heli until it comes for the Men.

Sometimes things don't work exactly the way we always want but it comes close. :P

A perfect example of: If OFP will not do what you want it to do, change what you want until it can.

maybe a slight idea for flashpoint 2 if anyone important is looking    find ways of letting people do more, instead of making them adjust!

Speaking of Wishes for OFP-2,  More Streams, Lakes or Ponds with Bridges over them that AI can easily move over and Every Building Usable.  Better AI and Airstrips use.
Well thats my wishes along with Bootneckoficer.  :P

OFP2 is offtopic is it not?
Everybody wants a thousand new things for OFP 2.

Hint: before the mods come beating you up solve the thread  :P  ;D
