Shilka firing on Tank

Hi, I was playing an MFCTI  Coop & in it the shilkas fire on M1A1 tanks. I've never seen them do this before so I made a test map to see if I could reproduce this but the shilkas never seem interested in tanks when I try it. They might take a quick look at the tank then turn around & ignore them after & never firing on the tanks. I also tried using the dotarget & dofire commands.

Does anyone know if these mfcti maps use a special script for this?

I decrypted the mission to look for a script in it but I cant find anything.

I forget when this sort of thing last happened, I haven't played OFP in quite awhile, something armored didn't fire on a MBt or abrams. It might be what you're talking about. The lighter armor would be able to destroy the abrams, but I think it may have to with threat levels or something. Like M113s would run from BMPs or something.... :P

And to make it fire, maybe use dotarget then a fire command on the Shilka.

And MFCTI the reason might be that when ordered, AI (I'm assuming AI was in control, if human I would try and put as many rounds as possible into the abrams as fast as possible) would attack because their commander ordered them to.

Well my opinion is, make an invisible target from the invisible targets mod. Make it about 1 meter in the sky and a script that keeps it at the side of the tank or whatever place of the tank the shilka is so the shilka will try to kill the invisible target and will hit the tank :D!

I was once in an Abrams with all the hatches closed and I heard sniper bullets bouncing off the armour.  All part of the unredicability of the game.

all the armoured vehicles in mfcti (or almost all) has changed config. that's what the MFCTI1.16.pbo addon is for. Shilkas threat level has been tweaked so it will fire at MBTs too. normal shilkas only engage men, apcs, air targets and any other none MBT.

Ahh, thats interesting....I knew something was different about them.

How could I go about changing the threat level? Is this possible with some kind of command or script?

AFAIK you can only change the threat level via the config of the model.

not hard at all, you just need to learn what lines to edit.
however, this will create a new addon, so anyone playing one your missions using whatever you've created will need that addon you've made.
