Crews out of vehicles at init

I need some assistance please.
Excuse my ignorance, but whats the best way of starting a crew out of a vehicle, so that at the activation of a trigger, they get in and move out following the vehicle groups waypoints?
Is it as simple as calling the (say) East manned helicopter "heli", and then in the init feild
Unassignvehicle heli. And then once a trigger goes off I use some basic command to get them to jump in?

or do I have to create a Empty vehicle (heli), with a flightcrew group (called Crew1), and set waypoints to enter, take off and fly the route? My fear is No. 2. I can do no. 2...but I was hoping there was an easier way.

why not make empty vehicles.... give the guys a move waypoint where they'll wait till the trigger goes off.... and then a getin waypoint after....followed by the rest of their waypoints

make your trigger, synch the trigger to the move waypoint and then the units will wait at the waypoint until the trigger goes off.. at which time they will get in their vehicles and go about their waypoints ;)

Number 2 is by far the easiest.  AS said made your couple of crew as a group and give them a GetIn WP.  The b4est way would be to select the group leader, and then when you make the new WP, create it while you can see the name of the chopper (the mouse will have to be over the chopper obviously) and when you create the WP the "crew" will automatcally get into that chopper and use it to fly along the rest of the groups WPs.
