Hello;
I was wondering how easy it would be to convert some of the night missions in OFP into day missions? Some of the night missions are great but I'm not a huge fan of running around in the dark (especially with the gorgeous islands around). I have no idea how to edit or write my own missions so I have no idea how I would do this, but is there a simple way to "de-pbo" the mission files and change the time of day? I would only use the missions for my own enjoyment so I hope this would not infringe on any ownership issues.
Thanks as always to those who take the time to respond.
Best wishes,

Un-pbo the mission. Open it up in the editor and change the time of day. You find it by clicking the intel box in the upper right corner of the editor screen.

Firstly, there aren't any copyright or ownership issues providing you don't try to pass these missions off as your own or try to make money out of them.   BIS are happy for people to do stuff like this.

Secondly, nominesine is spot on.    Use Amalfi's pbo decryptor 1.5 to unpbo the missions - its very easy to use.    You can grab it from the Tools section of the Editors Depot.

You will probably find, quite quickly, that you want to do a little more playing around in the Mission Editor, which is great.    I wrote a Guide to mission editing for beginners, in Tutorials - Getting started, which you might find useful.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Thank you both for your advice. I got the pbo decryptor tool and was able to successfully de-pbo the file.

Here is the next question though: the "mission" I was hoping to alter was a campaign, and when I decompressed the campaign pbo there was a whole wack of files. Given that all I want to do is change the time of day, would there be any one file (a master file where all the settings are located) that I would have to change using the mission editor, or do I have to go through all of them? I apologize if this sounds naive, but this is my first foray into editing (if you can call this editing) and I do appreciate any help. Thanks again to all those that take the time to respond.
Best wishes,

Another Red Dwarf fan?

Each mission is a stand alone item and these are linked together into a campaign, so there is no alternative to going in and changing the tiem of day individually.

I don't know if you would find it easier but for each mission there is (or you can create) a text file called init.sqs  If you put the following line in it it will set the start time of your mission to whatever you want without changing it int e mission editor

skiptime (1.5- daytime)

thius would start the mission at half past one in the morning.
