how do i add flags from OFP's flags?

I'm sure that its been brought out but i cant seem to find any explanation in the search.I 'd like to ad a flag to a pole from OFP's flags and not have to dl any.Can someone help?Thnx.

I'd like to see a complete list of the flag textures I have by default.

The only ones I know are:

usa_vlajka.pac - American Flag
west_vlajka.pac - NATO Flag
rus_vlajka.pac - Soviet Flag


To use, place a flagpole.  In its init field, add:

this setFlagTexture <texture file name>


Example:

this setFlagTexture "usa_vlajka.pac"

I recall seeing a complete list on this site in the last few months.  Might be worth trawling back through previous threads.  I don't use the vlajka thing.  I put in a flag (international) and in the init field I put:

this setflagtexture"\flags\XXX.jpg"

where XXX =  USSR or Russia or NATO or USA or UnititedKingdom or England or EU or China or Sweden or redcross or white etc. etc.  Just guess at the one you want.

Another possiblity! Depbo the addon file called "Flags", and choose the flag you want.
For example, you want to insert a US flag. so you depbo (using the program called Depbo  ;D) "Flags", you pick the one called "USA.jpg", you put it inside your mission folder, then type in the init line 'this setflagtexture "USA.jpg"'...

There are other ways to put a flag on a pole, but i've always used this way of doing, and i will continue doing it like that  ...

Both methods work, but if you put the flag in the mission folder you are making the mission file larger which is not always desirable.   The flag pack is an official addon (v1.30??) so everybody has it.

The list of flags has been posted on the forum more than once I believe.    However, it is worth unpboing the file so you can actually see the flags.

That was what I saw: a recommendation to de-pbo the file.  I forgot.  
I recommend you have a look at that - there are more flags than I know what to do with

In fact, i began to use my method, when OFP 1.30 had just been released. Some friends of mine didn't have it, so i'd place the flag (generally, USA, NATO, USSR, Russia and some times France  ;D)....

Since then, i always use this way... And i wont change!!! no! no! no!

The official flag pack was a god send... gone now are the cumbersome inclusion of dodgey jpg's in the mission pbo ;D

The "Flag Pack" is simple addOn with many national flags and some bonus flags.

How to use flags:

Insert new EMPTY object "Flag (international)" into your mission (please don't use the original Flag - only use Flag (international) to make sure people playing your mission will have installed the Flag Pack with all files needed.

To the "init" line type following:
   this setFlagTexture "\Flags\FlagName.jpg"
   
   where FlagName should be replaced with a name from the list below.

Example:
   this setFlagTexture "\Flags\Czech.jpg"

NOTE:
   Flag textures are slightly misplaced in version 1.20. This problem will be fixed in upcoming version 1.30.
