brief problem :(
« on: 01 Oct 2004, 09:56:32 »
Sorry, but i REALLY dont know where i could have posted this since this isnt a scripting question, its not feedback nor a comment, nor a mission idea ??? ...
Ok, so i had several complaints about my overview's pics spilling over the edge. Now, i test my missions (of course i test my mission) and i cant see ANYTHING wrong with the overview pic :(. I thought that it had to do with the resolution, so i lowered it to 640x480; the pic didnt spill over at all although its edge was dangerously near the edge of the notebook. I doubt anyone plays on a resolution lower than 640x480, so can anyone enlighten me on this one?  :-[

Sounds like a general editing question, so this is the correct board.

I don't know the answer though.   A pic being the right size (you are seeing it BIS size, right?) on one comp but not another .... odd.

No, the pic's size is about 4x larger than the BIS ones, but that isnt enough to make them (nor the text) spill over, whatever resolution i play on. For example, Petrovice Salient has an overview pic the exact same size, and nobody complained about it spilling on 2 pages :( .

Ah, well it may just depend on what is meant by spilling over.     Do people mean it is spilling over onto the next page, or do they mean it is spilling over the normal borders of the first page?     If it's four times the size of a BIS pic it probably looks far too big for the page and it may be that that's all they mean.

If you can, post a screenshot of the Overview page.

Greetings, Comrade Joe.

I can't see anything wrong with the picture either. Perhaps they were talking about the text spilling off onto a second page, and go the concepts of 'Text' and 'Images' mixed up? ::) :P

Maybe you could ask one of them to send you a screenshot of the problem? Or you may never know what they were talking about...

:-X Damn, im so stupid!!! It was a logical ... paradox that only seems to exist in english. When the guy that commented said "it" after a comma following "picture", i thought he was talking about the picture when he was actually talking about the text! It was the text that was spilling over all the long, not the pic! Lol, how the hell did i miss it? :P
I only have one excuse for this blooper - the fact that i'm romanian  :-\ .

Lol.  ;D  At least the problem is solved.    Actually, I'm surprised this sort of thing doesn't happen more often.
