Camera Question
« on: 07 Jun 2004, 03:34:50 »
I'm flipping through Snyper's tutorial, and to help me understand it, pertaining to my situation, I'd like someone to handhold me just this once and walk me through this completey.

It's pretty simple. I want, as soon as the mission starts -- the view to move to an external (the one right beneath) of a SU-27 with no pilot in it that's airborne, for the purposes of showing the player it crashing. Once it explodes, I'd like it to switch back to the player's view.

What do I need to do? :>

We can call the SU-27 'Crash' for now.

Thank you *SO* much, Guys.

Also, is there a way to make it smoke as it's going down?

Thank you SO much.

You need to use LogicCam, a script that keeps camera following an object by using Game Logics. You can go to this thread and get it here: LogicCam

The thread also has a linkto a great readme with pix

The smoke: the chopperdown scripts gen smoke, it's out of my league, you need a campfire somewhere on island. I suggest you get the tailrotorfailure script from scripts and see if you can take the smoke piece to see how it's done

You can use the drop command to create the smoke.. although its one of the most complicated command in OFP, there are Tutorials in the Editors Depot :)
