I had a VERY simliar (Sounding) idea myself...
Now - I'm sure you've played a couple of missions where you've had back up from medics
(I'm thinking missions like the tank command missions where you can ALSO call in the repair, fuel and ammo trucks)
What is needed is some kind of script (I will see if I can find the commands myself (But I doubt it
(!))
that:
a> Detects IF and how BADLY a unit has been hit
b> Whether the unit is Needed to complete the mission
(This may have to be indicated in the mission.sqm)
c> Whether the Unit is carrying heavy weapon(s)
(ie. If a Machine gunner is hit - he would drop his MG and swap with the nearest unhurt trooper)
d> Whether there actually IS any medical support\evac available (This would have to be the first line and if there wasnt, then most of the rest of the script would become redundant)
e> The unit would have to leave it's CURRENT group and join a temporary group created specifically for wounded to BE evacuated
f> After treatment and return to the battlefield, they would need to rejoin their original unit
And various other things I cant remember or think of right now...
ALSO It would need somewhere to ferry the evacuated units TO (And possibly a MASH tent for them to heal at and then return them to their units)
There's a LOT to figure out in this script and I'm guessing if it's implemented AT all (Before OFP2(!)) that perhaps the guys behind the CHAIN OF COMMAND mod might do it
Dan ;D
