How to arm AI from weapon box

i need to get group of unarmed AI to get their weapons from weapon box one taking weapon and every second one only bullets?

I'm not sure you can pick up only ammo, what I mean is, I think you need to have a weapon in order to get the ammo for it.

I could be wrong though.
