Making unit visible on Map?

Is their a way to make units visible on the map even if they are not part of your group or known by your group?

I want be able to track a camcreated aircraft.  I know I could use a tracking script with a marker, but I would so much rather just see the craft's normal map icon.  So can it be done?  I thought maybe the reveal command would work, but it does not.

I think the reveal command will work, but only once the mission has been exported to single player (it won't work in the mission editor).

Thanks, for your reply, but no it does not work even after exporting to single player.

I think that I will just use a marker tracking script.
