Is there any way to activate a script when a unit has fired a weapon?

I want a script to activate when a certain unit fires his gun, is there a command or variable that lets you see when a unit has fired so that you can activate a script?

Yes.
You need to learn about eventHandlers, particularly "fired". Hunt around the Ed Depot, there's some good stuff on them there.
