Hey All, I want to use a voice_dialog from "Full Metal Jacket". I have the movie, but how do I rip the sound? Its a 20 sec long speach.

does it make sense?

If you are trying to get the sound into a mission:
Get the sound file, convert it to .ogg format using a codec (www.vorbis.com) and use OFP Cool Studio (www.ofp.gamezone.cz - Utilities section) to create a description.ext.

In your folder of the mission you want to put the sound in, create a folder called "Sounds" and put the .ogg file into that.
Check out various tutes on this site for more info.
Hope that helps, if that was what you were trying to do.  

If it doesn't work the 1st time try and try again. I just recently got my first bunch of sounds into flashpoint. (the red hot chili peppers' album)

Hey Mr. S.A.S , not quite, I know how to convert etc. What I dont know is how to rip from a movie.

I'm not sure if you can rip from a movie unless it's a DVD, legally.

How about using a microphone? Play the movie on a DVD player and then record the sound using the microphone. If you don't have one, you can get them real cheap in GAME (if you live in the UK), but if not I'm sure they'd have them in any good computer shop.

To record sound from your computer, just goog seach for sound recording software, you find lots of solutions, most of them free.  This way you dont need to fart around with microphones and end up with poor quality sound.

What you do with the recording software is of no concern to me.

from the technical point:

No matter if you're using a DVD player or a VCR...they usually have Audio out connectors..check the rear panel or check the manual. Most common used are Cinch connectors (White=left, Red=right).

When this is checked, you'll need a cable with Cinch plugs on one end and Mini Jack connector (Headphone) on the other. This one you connect to the Line In of your soundcard.

Now you're ready to record it with any Recording prog. Just make sure the Line In volume isn't set to 0  ;D

If you happen to have Adobe Premiere (about 300MB) it's a piece of cake  ;D
I'm sure there are smaller programs, though..
