Hello, all.  Some might remember my very brief appearance back in March when I first started editing.  Or maybe not.  I didn't stand out in any case.

But anyway, Flashpoint succeeded in luring me back in, and I just started editing again.  I've still got that mission I was working on (and never delivered) somewhere around here...

On to my point.  I'm working on a new 'mother of missions' with a friend.  It'll probably take a while, given that it is no small endeavor.  But for now, I"m wondering how I can get my outro to actually work.  I can make it just fine.  That's not the problem.  But how  ??? do I get the mission to transition to the outro when it's ready for it?

I had been using cutscenes to end my missions earlier this year, so I never really learned how this works.  I took a brief look in some tutorials and whatnot, but couldn't find anything.  I'm sure I didn't look hard enough, because I'll undoubtedly be told that what I need is in one of them.  However, I don't have time for a 'search & rescue'  ;D, so maybe someone could point the way with a link, or explain it?

The outro autimaticly plays when the mission ends, and depending on wether it ends with an End 1-5 (i think 5) or a Loose trigger, it will either play the win outro or loose outro

It plays automatically AFTER the debriefing screen, in a similar way to the way the Intro plays before the briefing.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Cool, thanks a lot guys.  I never realized that before, because I always just hit restart rather than continue when I got to a losing debrief.  This was kind of a "duh" situation.  :-[

It's kind of a bummer that it's after the debrief.  You could have a really good one, and it's possible that a person could never see it.  :'(

Oh well, at least now I know.  Thanks again.

You could always have a cutscene when the mission ends.   That would play before the debriefing.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Yeah, I was thinking about that.  It really depends, though, for this mission.  I'd either have to keep something dormant where nobody can see it, or work with creating the objects/units. ::)

I guess it'll be more understandable why it is that I'm debating it if my co-editor and I can ever get the mission done and put it up for play sometime soon.  It's taking a lot of work.   :-\ ;D 8) :P

If you need to "create" stuff for a final cutscene, here's one way to do it.    Create the cutscene in the correct place.     Record the positions of each object from the mission.sqm.     Cut and paste the objects to an outlying island.     At the appropriate moment setPos them back in.    Using setPos rather than createVehicle means you don't have to worry about their orientation - it's already set up correctly.    You  just have to get the placement right, which is easy.    

And yes, a good mission is a lot of work.  ;D

Sounds good.  Thank you macguba, I'll keep that in mind.  As mentioned before, it depends on a variable that I can't yet say anything about.  I have another small concern, too, but I think it would be preferred that I start a new thread for it.   ;)
