Martial arts cutscene
« on: 05 Dec 2003, 00:50:02 »
Is it possible to make a cutscene in which a soldier would be able to kick/punch/run up walls and do fancy kung-fu style actions? (Of course, there would have to be a victim who would respond accordingly to the volley of kicks and punches).

You'd need to create custom animations.    The only things in this line are strokegun and strokefist.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Heh... umm, no it isn't really. The OFP soldiers are somewhat limited in their martial arts skill... you'd need to make hundreds of custom animations. Which would take a year or something. Not worth the effort so don't bother about it - if you want martial arts go and watch Crouching Tigger Hidden Dragon or something.

Heh You could do it like they said create the anims but don't do that unless you wanna rot in your own filth for a hundred years but you could do it reall cheaply by using set pos and stuff and make him look like a board thats floating around would look really funny but if you're going for serious nope.

Sounds appealing  ;) nevertheless I think i'll let someone else make the animations, then take all the hard work for granted. Maybe custom animations will be easier to make in OFP2?

...and thats not out for a loooooooooooong time :'( :'( :'(

it really is a lot of work to do custom animations...and the way OFP is made doesn't help. games like quake3 and so on are more suited to it :-\
