quick waypoint question
« on: 13 Nov 2003, 22:48:13 »
I'm sure this has been posted before, but I forget how to do it.  I want to put the waypoint in the air, fr air planes  How do I set it to be where it is on the map, but a certain number of units higher?  (maybe this could be a sticky :P )

Just create waypoints normally and the planes will follow them, you dont need to put them in the air.

create a plane.
click on the plane then click on Waypoints on the menu at the top of the editor.
double click anywhere on the map where you want to put the waypoint

Just remember to set the special field to "flying", so that they are in the air when the mission starts.    Use the command flyInHeight if you want to control the height.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

waypoints do not use height anyways, they only have an X and a Y position...

Yeah, im not having trouble with the ai, i was just hoping i could but the waypoint in the air so I could see where it was when i get within a certain distance.  If its on the ground you cant see it.  And it doesn't have to be flying if you put the ai at the runway.
