Quick Question About Artillery Script
« on: 19 Oct 2003, 19:42:56 »
I have David Berka's artillery and spotting script and I have gotten it to work.  Only problem is there are only two types of ammunition I know of that can be used with the script.

Does anyone know how I can find other usable types of ammunition?  Even better, does anyone know of any other types of ammunition I can use?

Shell73
Heat73
Gun73
Shell105
Heat105
Gun105
Shell120
Heat120
Gun120
Shell125
Heat125
Gun125

These should work, thought the HEAT shells look best in an artillery script.

there's the handgrenade too, can't remember the syntax though, try handgrenade. Handgrenades is good for arty when you don't want it to blow away all the enemies. Then you can always add a small drop command effect in the explosion to make it look more deadly than it is.

HEAT shells do look good, since they make a big 'old fireball when they explode. Problem is, they have an extremely small damage radius. It practically has to land on top of you in order to hurt you.

I like hand grenades, too, and they are called "grenadehand". Note that you can also use grenade-launcher grenades, which are called "grenade". These have a larger blast radius.

"Zuni" is another one. That's the rocket for the Cobras and Apaches. Makes a bigger explosion than the HEAT or Sabot.

You can find a list of all the avalible ammo in the Offical or Unoffical command refs.

Or u can just do as i always do, use 2 explosions on the same spot, 1 that looks cool (like HEAT) and 1 that hurts, like plain shell or ofcourse the big arse lazer guided bomb :)

in OFP the heat125(T80's SABOT (INGAME)) it has a very small effect on infantry

in reallife the impact would create lotsa heat in the area + depree and shattering metal that would often kill the ones nearby :\
