Awry Camera Pos
« on: 27 Aug 2003, 01:30:16 »
Whenever I use 'Internal' or 'External' in waypoints or triggers, it always is showing from the bottom of the unit (i.e. feet).  :-\. Nothing works to change it. What's up with that?

Please assist.

Ok... Tell me this, what's so friggin hard with typing: this exec "camera.sqs" in a units init field,
and then pressing Ctrl n' just pastin the shit in a text file :-\...
yeah maby it's alitle tricky if you don't read the tutorials or check how bis did it.
But if you do, it can't be so hard... can it  :-\
So why don't you tell me what's so dificult and I'll help you out the best I can... ok?!? ;D

First read Snypir's exelent Intro to Camera Scripting tutorial. Read it again and again untill you understand it completely... then read it some more ;).
Then move on to Camera.sqs tutorial by Messiah.
Camera.sqs is a very handy litle tool that is built in the game, with it you can script cutscenes in matter of minutes (if your in a hurry ;D), and also get coordinates for unit placement. :)
If those still don't help you, you could try search the editors depot for more camera tutorials.
And finally, I've made a litle example mission (only the intro) for you...
ít may not be exactly what your looking for but it should help you get on your way with camera scripting.
It contains a small intro with a example "music" file defined in a description.ext...
The Intro is editor driven so you can easily edit it. Just place it in your users\username\  folder ;)
Download it here

[EDIT]
Oh and theres also a tutorial mission by macguba that I think you should check out... :-X

Ok then... I don't think I can help you out much more than that ::).
But if you still are really interested in learning camera scrpting, I suggest you search this site or the web for some more simple tutorials...
