special effects..
« on: 28 Sep 2003, 03:04:36 »
This thread is about special effects.  I suggest you all get CATSHITONE's CAT Effects pack.  He has this one effect that is this huge flame as if an entire structure is about to.... fall or something.  Or as if a base has just suffered a major blow to their ammunition room.  Now wouldn't that fit quite nicely?

Couldnt U just use the drop command (this coming from the guy who does explosives and fire and stuff for Popcorn productions). I used the fire from that pack once, and its just easier to use drop (and less laggy)

Yes, the drop command is better, I don't like the CAT fires, it's too uncontrolable.

 wow.. that brings back memories....

I think the CAT  fire was one of the very first addons I ever downloaded, which had to be about two years ago or something by now.

It was good for back in the day.. or I guess if for some unknown reason you still don't have Resistance ::)

But these guys are right  BronzeEagle,  in the last couple years since that came out there have been many more spectacular fire/explosion scripts making use of that lovely  Drop Command

Yea, CAT Fires was one off my first addons too... BUT, I soon tossed it out cause I think it was too uncontrolable. Now I make my own fires easy with the drop command. They are controlable, good looking and easy to make(thx to Vektorboson).

EDIT: Yeauk! That sounded like a commercial!

First I used this shave but my legs got all red and irritated. Now my legs are as soft as a babies behind, all thanx to the lovley Vektorboson shower cream. ;D

Hey Josef,

Well, if you want a drop based explosion that's really big, check out my improved tactical nuke on the script beta forum.
