Author Topic: How??Tanks Stay inplace/ Forward observer 400m. ahead??  (Read 537 times)

  • Have you taken a BMP out at 500 meters??
I need to have my Tanks stay on top of hill [they must be able to fire] as a Office(night-equip) is placed forward scanning horizon, to call out targets. Every time i do this the tanks end right next to the officer. I would like the low tech. way of doing this without getting CoC artillery down load.

Also any Howitzer or field gun, like 88mm to down load some where to use??

Set their fuel to 0 with the command in the init,

This Setfuel 0

Then if you want them to be able to move later add the fuel again by reversing the command,

Mytank setfuel 1

They must have the formation bit set to none.

If this doesn't work (sometimes it doesn't), have them start off not in his group. Have a trigger which makes them join the group after the mission starts. That should do the trick.

Ofp.Gamezone.cz has all sorts of addons. I'm sure there is arty there somewhere.

Don't have the tanks In Formation with the officer.  Change the 'Special' option to None and put a doStop this  in their init field

Nah, they will move up near the officer when they start seeing some enemies if you do this. There isn't any good way to force them to stay out of formation aside from setting their fuel to 0 or disabling the move AI

I must admit I have not tried a doStop with a tank.  It seems to work well with infantry though.

I may have mis-understood the comment

I read it as the tanks start off next to the officer, though I cannot think why I understood it that way now ::).  To avoid that if the tanks are grouped with the officer then they must be given the Special instruction None (rather than in Formation).

The Not information Work good for my purposes

Dont think I'll need the Arty Script thanks Armstrong (I think ya Knew ya as Armstrong when ya first started Ofp ed forms-- Looks like ya gain tons of Knowlege... I play off and on as time allows) Darn Dancing Banana :o

Checked out Web site.  Found A Couple Arty-Guns but that will do.

Idea:A person could make some more Arty-guns or Anti-tank guns that can be moved.  By Making these, the person could be an addon Arty-gun Guru.
I broke down( at the time when this webserver broke down) and downloaded CoC Arty. Very Nice.
