Still cant get men 2 hold fire, wot am i doin wrong??????

I posted a message a few weeks ago about making my units hold fire until an enemy gets to a certain spot, i got a trigger with activated by east and synched it with the first waypoint of my man which just says hold fire, stealth etc. So anyway wen the enemy get to where the trigger is, nothing happens. Do i need to use a switch trigger?

My second waypoint has open fire, combat.

My first waypoint is directly on top of the soldier and the second waypoint is a few inches from the first, will that affect anything?
Also its not just 1 soldier i want 2 hold fire, theres another 10 or so, does that mean ill have to make another 10 triggers for each soldier???

Switch triggers are used to make a unactive waypoint that will only become active if a certain event occurs that you specify in the switch trigger and therefore you should sync the switch trigger to the "event" waypoint.
But no need for that here.
Just set the first waypoint on Never fire, Second waypoint on
open fire and sync the non switch trigger to the first waypoint and place on top of leader of the group.

did u use ny oder commands on da soldiers ? 2 make em stop were dey r ? if u have used da stop command - dey wont fire wen deyre stopped  ;D

try making it "Never Fire" instead of "Hold Fire" especially if there is a group leader.  Sometimes the leader will order open fire despite the Hold Fire.

The thing is the soldiers arent joined to a leader, i have put them on there own.
I have put in the soldiers init field this setBehaviour "COMBAT". I'll just have to keep playing around.

If u want to know wot im trying to create, think saving private ryan at the end wen they set up the ambush and they wait for the germans  to get down a narrow corridor between houses then they fire at them.
