Recon Mission Scripting
« on: 14 Jul 2003, 21:14:06 »
Hey all.
Does anybody out there know how to make a script which does the following:

 • Detect what the player is looking at (e.g. Tank1 scud1 etc.)
 • Tick off each object after its been looked at for say 10 seconds.
 • Throw up a radio msg saying that more information is required on a group of spetnaz freaks.
 • Tell the player to get out of there after telling him that the spetznaz have seen him.. :)

Cheers
Stevo

Hmmm, this sounds like a job for (dum dum duuuummmmm)

the knowsAbout command

Look it up in the command ref and see if it might help you.   GetDir could come in useful too.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Hrm - The commands i can find that could work have one common flaw - When you look at the base you 'know about' all the vehicles, men, whatevers at once and you could leg it straight away and still complete the mission. I need somthing to detect when the player is specificly looking at an object.

I get the feeling this is going to be impossible to do.. Oh well - never give up   ;D
