Primary/Secondary Weapons

Quick question:

What in an addon's cpp file do I change to make it from a primary weapon, to a secondary weapon?

I want my soldiers to carry a regular assault rifle and a combat shotgun.
But the shotgun and the rifle are mutually exclusive as far as OFP is concerned so I can't have them both.

I want the shotgun to be secondary (just like an RPG or AAlauncher is).

i think i tried making a weapon once that took the slot and i couldnt get it to work properly
so no i dont think it is possible as the animations for the law/rpg are totally different to the primary weapon ones

Well didn't OFP:Resistance's Uzi get changed from a being originally a secondary to a primary weapon?

Now there was an ingram but it used the same animations as a pistol....you could have a Sawn-off but thats not very military...i'm stumped on this one, could have new animations i guess?

I think I have it, but I have no idea how to script (or adjust a soldier addon) for it.

Just like you can put one weapon down (on the ground or to a vehicle) and pickup another, you can make a soldier addon with a backpack (that's a backpack in the addon code, not necessarily actually visible).

Then through the action menu you could (for example) select:

"Put away M16A2 take Binelli Shotgun"

and then when you have the Shotgun, through the action menu, you can do the reverse.

Now whose gonna code a new "Soldier addon" for me?

About your idea, sounds interesting!  So the gun you put away would probably have to dissapear this way, but it could possibly work...   ;)

Sorry 'bout that.
I meant it in the original sense of the word ... as in "strange looking".  :)

Just trying to keep some order around this place...   :o   ::)

I could tell you didn't mean it that way, but some people could take it that way..   ;)

BTW, when I have time I'll look into your "invisible backpack" idea.. I like the possibilities it could entail and think it could add to our mod in certain situations.    :)
