Looks really nice and also promising! :thumbsup:

But I have one question, do you need a .bmp picture of your island like from Wilbur? I started Skye in WRPedit itself... (the HARD way). :P

Small update to our WRPTool project page.

First we have the five brothers having a nice reunion at 51km island.

Then zoom into Chapoi, taking a look around there...

and when we are bored, lets use mouse to drag a box over bunch of trees, hit CTRL-C and

Copy & Paste them around a bit...

I have been playing around with this util now for two days, here is some facts: It has not crashed yet. Its fast, no laggyness on my 1.3ghz, 512mb, gf2 gts machine when editing 51km island. Moving objects is easy, use mouse to drag them around. Placing objects is pretty much easy as you select object from Object Browser and place it with ALT-LeftMouseButton or INSERT key press. Or you can put mouse over existing object, press HOME key to fetch the object type there and then place it with the above mentioned method. Rotating the objects is easy, hold down left SHIFT key and LeftMouseButton and move mouse around, object rotates. You can also select option that when you place new object, it has already random rotation.

Its a good start :)

yay.. copy+paste ::)

just what i've been dreading all along..

so when this comes out someone with little or no talent can open the island you've worked on for months and just select a nice section of city you've slaved on to get all the bushes and fences and such just right..

and hit copy... then hit paste on their own map ?

just what we need ::)

I wouldn't worry about that too much. Someone with little or no talent can spend just as long making their own island from scratch  ;D :P

I dont think you should worry too much bout the copy and paste the benefits far overweigh the risk someone would copy something from your map.. also its not sure you can copy and paste between maps... prolly only on the map youre currently working with... Also your cities are mabe based on the height diffrances on your island and its not sure it will look as good on the new island if it has different ground heights (unless you make all your cities on flat ground).

Also I think most ppl thinks its more fun to create their own cities and stuff anyway.

Kaliyuga I recognise your concerns about the copy and paste, but although it will be very frustrating for mappers, it may produce better maps quicker, which is good for the community.

And I doubt people with little or no talent will suddenly be producing mapping masterpieces by ripping off peoples maps or through a wonder copy+paste function, there is still a lot of work involved besides placing fences (damn i hate fences). Ripping off work can be done already, a copy and paste won't introduce a flood of people doing this, in my opinion.

It will make mapping easier it seems, which can only be good for the community and current/future map makers.

Yeah, I agree.

It is allready very easy to use the work of others, and this is not only speaking of WRPEdit/Islands its possible to copy allmost every thing today. The good side of this story is that we have a strong community, that knows what comes from who, and what is a rip off. The ppl ripping off other ppl work are most of the time "one time editors" since they dont have the patience to create really great addons. Most of them just do it to try out how things are done, and even when copying others work its still a pain in the a** to create a good island.

Jones Out!

he People, it looks you are down, and that everyone is making a copy of everything.
The most people doesn't read the englisch text good like me and then is WRPtool a good program for making quicker a island for playing a game who did making by yourself.
