usrt_peanut_butter, if you think that somebody has posted an answer that is incomplete or wrong then there is nothing wrong with politely pointing this out. However, your reply is not only rude but inaccurate. Understanding the description.ext - which is as easy as OFP editing gets - can only reduce the possibility of confusion.
The utility you mentioned may have been excellent at the time but it is now quite old and doesn't allow you to add all of the official addons. And it can't cope with user created addons.
In the end of the day the choice between direct editing and using utilities is a matter of personal preference. The least that we, as answerers, can do is to give the questioner sufficient information to make an informed choice.
