3 groups 3 waypoints and 3 tanks
« on: 17 May 2003, 22:08:35 »
I am having trouble setting up a situation where three squads of tank crews board three tanks and have to move in a columb formation.

My Current Setup:
The nine guys all together hop off the chopper and get into the tanks sucessfully.

Each group of three tank crew men have their own waypoint to get into their own tanks.

:'(Here is where I am stumped

I need them to all come together as one group and follow one waypoint in a colomb formation.

So, find the tutorials section and learn something about JOIN and SETFORMATION commands ;)

If you knows about the commands, you should have to problem to do what you are trying

Use the JOIN command to make the units become one group
Use the SETFORMATION command to make the units in the dezired formation
Use Wp's or the MOVE command to make the units move where you wanted.

I'm short on time right now, so i'll hop in later again to
give you a more detailed explanation, but for now a quick
one:

Keep the 3 tanks as only one group

give all their own name (tanks/soldiers)

use the assignaAsCargo command to define the right
tanks for the soldiers in the group.

Then a simple getin waypoint for the group (no need to place
it onto any tank) and all will enter their assigned vehicle.

For the tanks you'll just need to setup the waypoints so that
they will move on in column formation.

Dont argue with idiots....they will bring you down to their level and beat you there with experience.
