How to get a civilian to hate me

Hi want a civilian to hate my guts and shot at me before i shot at him. i am on the west and i want him to shot at me. i am making him a bank robber and i have to stop him from getting away from it. i know how to give him guns and ammo. but i dont know how to get him to hate the wests.

Put an east soldier in the same group as the civilian. In the initialization of the east unit put- deletevehicle this.

east is always enemy to west. By putting civilian in east group, he takes on the same attributes. So you just group the civilian to an east soldier, and then delete the east soldier so he wont be in the mission when it loads, and you now have an enemy civilian.

it works al little bit by me.

on desert island, if I put the civ in front of me and the russian dude on the other side of the island, then the civ does not start in front of me.

if I put the civ and the eastern soldier in front of me, then the civ will fire at me.

if I delete the eastern soldier, the civ. is doeing nothing in game. just playing a civ with a gun...

more I havnt tried.

OK, since everybody seems to be getting confused let's start again.

Create a west loon (=AI soldier=moron=dude=guy), rank corporal.

Next to him, create a civilian.    Make him a private, the player unit, and give him some ammo and a weapon.

Note that the civvy will start in formation with the west loon, unless you have selected none in his special box.   If you do that, he will start out of formation.

Test the mission.  Make sure the west loon is the group leader.

Now add an east loon or two, quite close and facing you.

Test.

Now write deletevehicle this in the init field of your west corporal

Test.  Don't fire.   You will get shot.

Try it out and see what happens.  If it doesn't work, play with it a bit.   If all else fails, post here again and tell us what's going wrong and we'll fix it.

RAGGY - ya might forgot about the grouping  


If YOU are WEST, then the AI civilians will be neutral/friendly to you by default (same if yer RES).

If YOU are EAST, then the AI civilians will be hostile agaist you by default.


Now, if you are WEST and want a civilian police officer to try & kill ya, simply create
an EAST soldier next to the civy, make the eastern d00d of highest rank and
hit F2 to drag a grouping line between EAST and CIV.
You now have a civilian police d00d sided to EAST (so he'll fire at any west unit). :thumbsup:

And to get rid of the ruskin, just put the 'deleteSpell' in the INIT field of that very east moron:

I think the civilians are friendly to the resistance and whoever the resistance's allies are.

No, civilians are friendly to everybody.   That's why you have to use one of these tricks to get anybody to shoot at them.

There's another way to get a civilian to shoot at you. If you're playing as WEST, create an EAST soldier, give him a name and save your mission. Press CTRL+TAB and load your mission.sqm in the notepad. In the text file, find the EAST soldier you created before and where it says VEHICLE="SoldierEB" change it and write VEHICLE="Civilian" (you can choose between Civilian, Civilian2 or Civilian3). Voilà , you have an EAST soldier dressed like a civilian.

With this trick you can also create WEST soldiers dressed as EAST ones, or civilians dressed as RESISTANCE soldiers, and wathever you can imagine .

That was the "old" way to fix it, m8  

Since RES, we can simply hit F2 and drag a grp line between "SIDED_UNIT" and "UNIT_TO_CHANGE_SIDE",

or addrating -10000 2 1 civie - nd every1 wil wanna kil him

or in lots of oder wayz mentioned above ;D

Or, simply group them up setting the soldier as leader and then set the soldier's probability of presence to 0
