Streetlamps (Res)
« on: 21 Apr 2003, 20:10:04 »
Howdy,

I'm having some problems with streetlamps.  I add them (using kegty's editor addon) and the light will appear half way down the lamppost.  I have seen another topic the same as this one, but no solution was presented, the writer just said he didn't need the lamposts anyway, well I do need them.  Heres what I do:

1.Call the streetlamp SL
2.In the init field of the streetlamp I type:
nearestObject [SL,"KEGres_misc087"] switchLight "AUTO"
3.Run the game and the light is half way down the post.

("KEGres_misc087" is one of the streetlamps, dunno which it's just an example.)

Anyone got any idea whats wrong here?

Thanks for your response, however, the "this inflame true" command only works in the streetlamp addon, I'm using the resistance lamps made available by Kegty's editor addon.  I was going to use the streetlamp addon, but it makes everything flicker (due to the fact it's based on a fire).  Anyone else care to assist.

P.S: I had a Milky Bar easter egg actually  :D.

I'd like to know the answer to this question too.

The Kegetys lamps don't light when you use:
this Inflame true

So I stopped using them, but I'd really like to know how to get them to light up. :(

I think I used this command with Kegetys lamps and the light was coming from half way down the post                             (this) switchlight "OFF"    but it also crashed the game a couple of times trying to use it on the desert malden map. maybe its in the addon

Yeah, it seems to crash the game when you edit something in the mission and then run.  What you'll have to do is change whatever it was, save it, close flashpoint, open flashpoint, preview the mission.  A bit of a hassel, but I MUST KNOW THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION!!.  (please don't take that as shouting, it's more need, thanks for listening ;)).
