Dont reload, its the LAW

I was wondering if soemone could help me out here. I was wondering how to go about making sure no one reloads the LAW, so that it would make it more realistic cause i'm pretty sure you cant use a LAW more then once in real life? Anyway its not for me, but for a guy who's made an excellent pack of weapons, and i thought he could change the LAW as well, but he doesn't know how to stop someone from Reloading the LAW. He can set the ammount of ammo you start with fine (even i can do that), so you could start off with just 1 LAW Rocket, but i want to make it so who ever uses this LAW, cant pick up any more ammo (from an Ammo crate or such).

srry cant answer ur scripting questions...but i know the answer to why it seems why the LAWs are reloadable in OFP.

In a post a LONG time ago we (lots of people on the forum) had this discussion. Somewhere along the line some1 busted in and said that a man could easily carry 3-4 law tubes since they are compact...and infact in Iraw today there are pictures of Kurds carrying 3-5 RPG launchers...so it is indeed verified that this is possible.  So we believed that OFP didnt want to have to do all the animation and work to make it so that everytime u wanted to launch a LAW u would need to get a new tube which would lead to one left on the ground...and if u had a 3 man anti tank group...that could be 12 tubes laying on the ground...plus all dead guys and vehicles...plus scenery...plus whatever else u want to throw on there for eye candy-LAG 'O' RIFFIC.

We figured it would just be a LOT easier to do it this way for all the makers of OFP instead of the realistic way.

yeah, but a more well trained army like the yanks in OFP wldnt carry many LAW's on one person. They dont do it in real life!

British Army LAW66's are reloadable, whereas US LAW 66's arent, they are simply disposable
From my army days if i remember correctly it was only practical to carry 1 LAW Launcher in addition to belt gear, bergen and personal weapon.

The actual rocket was stored in a cylindrical container. I suppose it would be possible to carry 2 or 3 in the bergen along with additional equipment when on long range patrols

For a fighting patrol, then all that is carried is weapons and ammo anyway, so i suppose its possible for each soldier in the unit to carry 1 LAW round each, in addition to the support weapons's ammo
The weight of the 66 launcher was a little less than the SLR and SA80, so at a guess was probably about 6 to 8lbs, i have no idea what the rockets weighed

It might be possible to addevent when fired and then setdammage 1 to the LAWLauncher
I have never tried to setdammage to a weapon but it may be possible

As far as using the weapon was concerned, i don't recollect anybody firing a LAW at an armoured target, it was used more on soft skinned and lightly armoured vehicles, buildings and entrenched infantry positions

The Charlie G 80 mm was used for anything bigger, and was a pain in the ass to hump around :)

Pandoz is right, we did discuss this before.   It's a compromise between reality and good gaming.   Terox and titan are also right, you can carry more than one but in practice a fully armed soldier would not.

What we haven't mentioned is that an 8 man squad would probably carry two or three between them, which is again messy in gameplay terms.    

If you want to reduce the number of missiles the easiest way is to give your loons Carl Gustavs - they can only carry one but the destructive power in the game is the same as two LAWs .... so 2 LAW soldiers are worth 3 AT soldiers.   The only exception is against T72s.

Alternatively, you can use a looping script to check how much ammo your loon has got, and if its too much take some away.  Use ammo and removemagazine

Well Kinnon i could send you a little addon i have finished that makes LAW's shoot at infantry :o just ask and i will send it to you 8)
