tnak fireing in air?
« on: 04 Apr 2003, 18:44:38 »
i have this in a small script.

#loop
tank dofire taget1
goto "loop"

I want that target to be somewere in the air at about 100meters 500meters away from the tank, so it will look liek its giving arty support, and do i use a marker in the air or an object.

Thanks in advance.

this is just an idea but you could use an invisible H and in its init type:

this setpos[ getpos this select 0, getpos this select 1, distanceintheair]

i haven't tryed this, the H might just fall. go ahead and try. then target it.
hope this solves your prob

Try puttin the invisible h closer, so it is in eyerange from the tank. I belive all units in ofp need to be in eyerange of the object their firing at or it would be indirect fire wich the ofp engine sadly enough doesent support.

Or take yer time and read through the thread (linked below),
where MI_Fred and me posted some scripts simulating them
firing in the air. The scripts were made for artellery in first
case, but you can use them for tanks aswell  ;)
