Head over to the Beta testing board, download my latest mission Regina Proeliorum, un-pbo it and borrow the Follow script that you'll find there.    It's called Shilka1.

Feel free to use it as it stands or adapt if for your own purposes.   (It's for a single vehicle so you'd be better to use the groupname and "move" rather than "doMove".)    Please mention me as the original author.

You won't be able to open the mission itself unless you have the addons, but the script is fairly self explanatory.     If you happen to feel like beta testing the mission while you're there of course, I'd be very glad.  ;)

There may be a Follow script in the Ed Depot, I don't know.

Edit:   there is also a script in that mission called CSM.    It allows the tank group commander (the player) to order the support group to whereever he likes.   That may work better for you.   As ever, please use it or adapt it as you will, just credit me.   It uses onMapSingleClick for which you will need OFP v1.85 or higher.
