OFPWiZard, its very common for people to ask questions which have answers on this site. The best response is to answer the question, but point out gently and politely that they could have got the answer quicker if they had looked for themselves.
There is a lot of information on OFPEC and its not always easy to find what you want .... once you know the command or whatever, then its easy, but a lot of the "easy" questions are only "easy" when you know the answer.
recon is a regular poster and has been around a lot longer than you. He does not post questions without having a hunt for the answer first. He also contributes to the community by answering other people's questions.
So next time you want to suggest that somebody have a look round the site, make sure you know you are dealing with first. Always give at least a hint as to where they can find the answer - the poster has come here because they need help, not a ticking off. And remember that the reason we point people towards the Ed Depot or whereever is for their benefit, not ours. It often takes a day or so to get an answer on the forum, whereas you can often find it in 10 minutes if you look yourself.
We're all just one big happy family, the idea is that we help each other.
