Newbie question...
« on: 22 Mar 2003, 22:11:11 »
Hi, I don't know much about scripting or modeling but after trying out (and modifying) Doolittles artillery-script (where you shoot barrels instead of shells) I came up with the idea that maybe you could change them barrels to improve the realism.

What I'd want to do is simply to take the barrel he's using (barrel4) and somehow have it make a noise like that of a shell as it comes flying through the air.

Would it somehow be possibe to de-pbo whatever file is containing that barrel, associate a proper sound with it and then compile it again?
If so, what tools do I need and is there any good tutorial anywhere that would help me with this?

I know this is a newbie question, but fuck it, I'm so curious if this is possible at all so I'm gonna ask you anyways :)

Yes there is a quick and easy tool out there to de-pbo some thing (it can also creat a .pbo):

It is called PBO tool and is made by Ales Mlakar.
