distance comand won't work after export
« on: 18 Mar 2003, 06:50:18 »
Hi, I'm new to this and couldn't find anything after a search (got frustrated sifting through unrelated topics).

I've just created a mission that uses the "aP distance aP2" comand and it works fine in the editor preview but not when I export it to multiplayer missions.  I'm sure it is this comand as only 2 triggers won't work and they both contain this.  Here's the first example:

fly distance le1 <100

Where fly is the name of my pilot and le1 is the commander of the base

This is the condition in the trigger which sets off an alarm in a base and triggers waypoints for guards.

So why does it work in the editor but not after exportation?  Does it have to do with the discription.ext file?  Any help would be most appreciated.

No idea.   Does it work if you export to SP?

Could it be, that you've already exported the map,
and you didn't delete the old pbo file before exporting
the map a second time?

When exporting from mission editor to pbo (sp/mp), OFP
isn't able to overwrite the pbo file, so your new version
will still remain to be the old version  ;)

Actually I worked it out.  The commands apartently become invalidated if they look for units which don't exist.  I wrote the comand to look for 1 of 6 units, but if some of them aren't there the comand becomes invalid.

Damn this editting is tricky stuff!

lol I have one worse than that .... came home late after one or two drinks, went into the bedroom, didn't recognise it, assumed I was in the wrong house and went back out into the street and puzzled over why my key had got me into the wrong house.     Turned out my girlfriend and moved around all the furniture in my bedroom while I was out.  :o

Anyway Woza, glad you got it sorted out. :)
