Using folders for script doesn't seem to work.
« on: 16 Mar 2003, 21:51:53 »
I need your guys' help on this one...

http://www.ofpec.com/editors/resource_view.php?id=95

This tutorial appears to be wrong. I messaged the author, but incase his email is dead, I need someone to let me know if they have ever been able to run scripts from sperate folders AFTER the have exported it to the single missions folder.

If someone knows how to get this to work, please post an exmaple mission. Remember the scripts must still work AFTER the mission is exported to pbo!

If you are referencing the to or from a C++ type file (.cpp, .ext, etc) you must precede the pathname with a "\".  If you are not then there must not be  a beginning "\" in the path.

Yes. I talked with a few people, and nobody can get it to work.

I'm gonna nix that tutorial.

Oops! I actually realized what he was saying in the tutorial (Reading comprehension was the only subject I couldn't score above 80% on in school). What he is describing would work, technically, but I would make publishing any mission which uses this method a disaster.

Instead of deleting it, I just marked it faulty, and put a big disclaimer on it.

Thanks guys!
