Kill him already....

I have an east chopper hovering above the ground close to a couple of west dude sitting on the ground. The gunner of the chopper is looking to the left of these dudes, and cannot yet see them and will not fire until he can do so.

I have setBehaviour and setCombatMode correctly, so basically i need to get the gunner to look at the dudes on the ground so he can mow em down.

I tried doWatch, do/commandTarget, do/commandFire, but he just points his gun away.

How can I get the gunner to kill the dudes?

have you tried dofire?

chopper1 dofire target1
choppers generally ignore soldiers unless the soldiers start shooting the chopper.

If that doesn't work it may be because you are too close.

A chopper won't engage if too close and too low to small ground targets

EDIT :

Just realised that commandfire and commandtarget only radio the commands (for eye candy only really.) To actually have a unit engage you must use dofire and dotarget.

Might I also suggest trying:

"chopper1 reveal _x" foreach [ target1,target2,target3... etc.]

So the chopper knows they are there ;)
